Red, White, and Blue Healthy Popsicles


I don’t know about you guys, but we LOVE healthy popsicles at my house. My kids ask for them all day every day. With that in mind, I knew we needed something that was free of refined sugar and packed full of healthy fruits and veggies. With the right combo of fruits and vegetables, the sugar is not missed. I promise! I also love to include some seeds for a healthy boost of fat and protein when possible. We decided to make these a little fancy for the long holiday weekend, and layer with red white and blue!

For the red layer:


4 Apples (we like cameo or gala best)

1/4 Beet

1 Carrot

Apple juice


Make the ABC puree by washing, peeling & chopping into cubes the apples, beets and carrots. Steam until fork tender. Puree in the food processor until smooth. Add apple juice (fresh is best if you have a juicer) until a pourable consistency is reached (about a cup or so). Set aside.

For the white layer:


2 bananas

2 T hemp seeds (adds a little protein & healthy fats)

1/2 cup coconut milk

1 T honey (if desired)


Puree until smooth. Add more coconut milk if needed to reach desired consistency and set mixture aside.

For the blue layer:


1 cup blueberries

1/3 cup coconut milk

1 T honey (if blueberries are in season, you may not need this!)


Puree until smooth. Set aside.


Assemble the pops by layering the mixtures in your favorite pop mold! I used the Fox Run Frozen Ice Pop Maker from my cake decorating supply shop, but any mold will do! My kids also love these Zoku Dinosaur Pops Molds and Zoku mini pop molds! I hope you and your kids enjoy these healthy pops as much as we do!
